INDUSTRIAL CITY 28 STRUCTURAL STEEL SHED
This project was design by KEDC and contracted out through a bidding process to Khormoj Construction Company. The purpose of initiation of this project was the need of storage for importing goods and re-distribution in Island.
The Kish Airport that was built in 1972 was consisted of two terminals for arrival and departure. In 1997 and after building a larger terminal, KFZO decided to UPGRADE AND REMODEL one of the old terminals to International terminal and the other one to a VIP terminal. The design work was carried out by KEDC atelier and the construction was contracted out to Mr. Zandi , a prominent architect in Kish Island under supervision of KEDC. The terminal was nicely renovated and all required facilities and security devices for an international terminal were designed and installed. The Terminal 2 was also remodeled later for a VIP terminal.

SAFFIEN 64-UNIT RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX
This residential complex was built by KEDC for accommodation of its staff but during construction KFZO decided to sell the units to provide fund for infrastructure projects. The complex consisted of 64 one and two bedroom units close to shore.
CONSTRUCTION OF KISH UNIVERSITY AMPHY THEATER
In 1996, KFZO decided to host seminars and convention in Island by adding an extension to existing university building and rebuild the amphitheater. This building was constructed behind of main building and was connected to the lobby. The all furnishing and decoration and utilities were supplied by KEDC and installed by different contractors. The job was done in few weeks and the next meeting of Oil Ministers of some of oil producing countries were held in this amphitheater
REPAIR AND EXPANSION OF AIRPORT APPRON
Due to increase of visitors and tourist and the number of flights to the Island KEDC contracted out a project to repair and expand the apron of the airport to Rah & Sakhteman Construction Company. The job was done in few months and delivered to management of the airport.
KISH AQUARIUM ; SNAKE ZOO
This project was designed and built by KEDC displace old building of aquarium and snake zoo that was not appropriate for expansion and renovating. The new building was completed and the snakes were moved to this building but the next management of KFZO decided to sell the lot for building of Mica Mall and demolished the building. We couldn't find any picture of this building.
CONSTRUCTION OF ASHENA BULEVARD
This boulevard was designed by KFZ Consultant Engineers as a recreation area and shopping center. One side of this boulevard was allocated to Chinese Market that was supposed to build by an investor but after completion the boulevard the investor could not provide enough fund and permission to continue his plan. Now the boulevard is a main street to connect Sadaf town to main belt way of the Island at Port Square.
EXTENTION OF BIKE WAY AROUND THE ISLAND
This project was assigned to KEDC by KFZO for extension of bike ways and add new tracks to complete the bike way around the island.
Construction of First Clinic in Kish
This project was assigned to KEDC by Hormozgan Providence Health Department. The contractor was Niroo Construction Co. that belonged to Police Department. It was built in a nice location in Saffein that at the time was more populated than any other points in the Island and the Clinic was actually for native population of Kish who lived in Saffein.
DARIUSH HOTEL
This building was designed by consultant engineer and KEDC contracted thru a tender process to a contractor under its own inspection. After 40% of construction work, KFZO decided to sell the incomplete structure to an investor who was very experienced in construction and running hotels in tourism regions, Mr. Sabet. The investor completed the building with some changes and adding Old Persian Empire symbols and statues as part of structure and decoration and completed construction in two years and the hotel is now operating as a 5 star hotel.
RENOVATION OF ERAM AND DOLFIN VILLAS
Eram and Dolfin were the names of two similar resident complexes with 58 one and two bedroom units as a condominium in two levels that was built in 1970s for KFZO managers and staff. These buildings were vacant until 1992 and the hot weather and humidity and also using the coral sand of the island for mixing concrete were destructing the buildings. All re-bars were ionized and worn-off and all ceilings were close to collapse. KEDC construction division was assigned to renovate and save the buildings by adding a beam at the first floor of each unit and remove the ruined re-bars and use re-bar mesh and shotcrete to rebuild the ceilings and fortify the buildings. Those condoes are now the best and most expensive condos in the island with the best location.
Installing Fence Around Kish Airport
This project initiated due to claims of some air plane pilots that landed in Kish airport regarding to see deers running in and around runway. The number of deers in Kish was incresed and they were looking for new territory. So Kish Airport Authority financed this project and assigned to KEDC . In a limited bidding one of the local and native contractor was selected and he supplied supports and pillars and barbed wire and finish 14 Km fencing around airport right-a-way.
KFZO HEADQUARTER BUILDING
This building was built to be the main headquarter of KFZO. It was designed by KEDC Atelier guided by Architect Alavi and constructed by construction division of KEDC. At stage of joinery , KEDC transfer construction to a private company and the contractor, Neksaz Construction Co. redesigned the inside architecture in regarding to KFZO organization chart and completed the building by some changes in front view by adding decorative columns.
HORSE RACING GROUND
This racing ground and grandstand was built in 18 days. Betting rooms and all other facilities such as bathrooms and offices were built under the grandstand.
EXPANSION OF KISH HOSPITAL
Kish Free Zone Org. assigned KEDC to plan and construct an expansion to existing Kish hospital adding clinics hall one and operation rooms. KEDC chose Pajoohesh and Memari Consultant Engineers to be in charge of this project. The job was done in one year by using prefab concrete pieces for foundation and prefab panels for walls and ceilings. All medical equipment were supplied by KFZO by consulting of the hospital management.
KISH INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL
This building was designed as a multi-function, super special medical center to provide medical services not only to the islanders but for whole region of Persian gulf and other countries as well. The building was steel frame structure and precast concrete panel. Pajoohesh & Memari Company was the consultant and the construction contractor in an EPC contract. This project was stopped at the start of elaborate work due to change of management of KFZO and change of policy. The ruined and rusted structure of project is still in south of the island hopping for a new investor to revive the project.
IRNA KISH OFFICE BUILDING
This building was awarded to KEDC by Pars News Agency. The plan was prepared by KEDC Atelier and construction was carried out by KEDC Construction Division. The job was done in 14 months and handed over to the Client.
INDUSTRIAL NO-3 INFRA-STRUCTURE
This project assigned to KEDC to construct water and sewage piping , electrical and communication facilities, streets with curbs and lighting , leveling sites for third party to construct industrial units and storage according to Master Plan.
CABLING AND LIGHTING OF JAHAN BELTWAY
This project was assigned to KEDC by Kish Water & Electricity Authorities to excavate channels for electrical cabling and installing light poles to lighten the Jahan beltway and bicycle track around the island.
KEDC HEADQUARTER BUILDING
This project was designed and constructed by KEDC by using two old steel structures at the north-east corner of the island that were abandoned by to Ship Manufacturing Company. The old structures were disassembled and sand blasted and painted and re-assembled again at the new location. The project was completed in two months and the company headquarter moved to new office that was perfect for KEDC needs and accommodated all sections of the company in one prestigious building.
KISH ARENA
This building was constructed in Kish sport complex for all in-door sports such as Volleyball, Basketball, Wrestling and all Martial arts, Weight lifting , ping pong and so on. It completed in 20 months. It has capacity of 5000 seats and it was equipped with shower rooms , locker rooms , a sauna and whatever were required for athletics.
KARANEH SPORT CLUB
This sport club was constructed under a steel frame niches structure . The swimming pool was 50 by 20 meters and depth was up to 3 meters. The club obtains a Jacuzzi with an ice pool, steam and dry saunas, gymnasium hall with all bodyworks equipment’s. It was located at a beach close to Persian Gulf waters and had a view of the shore. A nice Ceramic work was furnished on one of the walls and all columns with a picture of dolphins and some other fishes. The pool was refined with chlorine treatment plant. This club is still operative.
LABOR CAMP
Since in 1996 the number of labors who worked for KEDC and its contractors raised to thousands, the need for accommodation of these labors resulted to build a labor camp to accommodate all these people. The project thru a bidding awarded to Seaport Construction Company under the inspection of KEDC. The type of structure was precast concrete panels on a concrete mat with tongue and grove connection type. 120 units were built. Each unit had 4 rooms with small kitchen and two bathrooms and accommodated up to 16 persons, so the total capacity of the camp was up to 2000 persons.
EAST SHORE LIGHTING
This project was designed and constructed by KEDC to install 19 light towers at the east shore of the island. The shore was quiet dark at nights and not many people could go for walking or jogging near the shore and also the island was not seen by ships and planes approaching the island. By installation of these light towers a lot of restaurants and recreation areas were built at the shore and made a very nice view from the east side of island.
SAFFEIN MALL
This project was designed by Behin Shahr Consultant Engineers and was contracted by Tehran Tabrid Construction Co. The KEDC as the client carried out the supervision through the office of Resident Engineer at the site. The Mall was built in a 10000-meter land with 8000 building area in two stories including 120 shops. The purpose of building this mall was to transfer the old Arab Bazaar from Saffein to this mall and replace the old Arab bazaar and the old houses as a cultural in heritage and a tourist attraction area but the new management of KFZO converted to an office building and become the Municipality of Kish and Civil Center. The building is vacant since 2011. In 2015 The Kish TV and Radio Broadcasting Department ( Seda & Sima) bought the mall to convert and remodel it as Seda-Sima Center of Kish.
IMAM HASSAN MOSQUE IN SADAF
This mosque was designed by Famous Iranian Architect Late Mazloom Yazdi and constructed by KEDC in Sadaf town. All elaboration, joinery and tiling work was done under direct supervision of Mr. Mazloom and has assistant Mr. Taghavi. The mosque is now the most important cultural center in Kish Island.
120 UNIT RESIDENTIAL REPLACING OLD SAFFEIN
This project was design by Free Zones Consultant Engineers and was contracted out by KEDC to provide 120 units house to displace old houses in Saffein to move people from old saffein area where was not safe for people to live in. KFZO also wanted to evacuate that area and make a tourist attraction town. But after completing this project the management of KFZO was changed and the new management sold these houses and native people of the island are still living in those old poor neighborhood.
CONSTRUCTION OF OLMYPIC SQUARE
This square located on front of Sport Complex in Kish Island and actually is the entrance to this zone. At the beginning of Olympic Boulevard a statue of two wrestler is installed . At the middle of square a plan was developed in KEDC Atelier that was drafted by architect Naderi. The design was a ship with exaggerated long mast surrounded by water waves that was generated by a water pump. This symbol is still in square with some additions such as a flock of birds and an Olympic sign by colorful flowers
POOL STADIUM
This building was constructed in Kish sport complex for all water sports such as swimming, diving, waterpolo and etc. It had facilities such as sauna and Jacuzzi, massage rooms, locker rooms, showers and bathrooms. The roof was made of a space frame to protect the swimmers from sun in summer time.
CONSTRUCTION OF AIRPORT SECOND RUNWAY
Due to deterioration of existing run-way of the airport, and also the increase of the number of air traffic of the island, a project was defined to construct the second run-way and then repairing the existing run-way. KEDC hired Atak Consultant Engineers to design the new run-way. The project was rewarded to Chailagh Construction Company through a tender process and the job completed in two year. The second run-way is still operating.
SADAF INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT
This project was designed by Free Zones Consultant Engineers and was contracted out by KEDC to Chailagh company through a tender process. The project was including streets and sidewalks earthwork and pavement, provide and installation of curbs and gutters, excavation of channels for potable water piping and sewer piping with all manholes and turnouts, electrical cables and communication lines.
SAFFEIN INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT
This project was design by Free Zones Consultant Engineers and was contracted out by KEDC to Harareh Construction Company through a tendering process. The project was including streets and sidewalks earthwork and pavement, provide and installation of curbs and gutters, excavation of channels for potable water piping and sewer piping with all manholes and turnouts except electrical work that was contracted by electrical construction.
CONSTRUCTION OF 58 POWER TRANSFORMER POST
This project was assigned to KEDC by Kish Water and Electricity Company to construct all necessary structures to accommodate power transformers for any point of the island that is required and ordered by KWEC. During four years 58 posts were constructed and handed over to client
CONSTRUCTION OF 4 SEASIDE RESTAURANT IN JAHAN BELTWAY
This project was assigned to KEDC by KFZO to design and construct four restaurants around the island to increase tourist attraction to other locations of the island rather than just shopping centers and east coast. After 25 years the restaurants are still operating and serving people.

STEEL CO. RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX IN SADAF
This residential complex was built by KEDC as an investment project in a partnership with Steel Elements Construction Company. The SECC was in charge of construction work. This complex located in town of Sadaf in central area of the island.
CONSTRUCTION OF THREE SCHOOLS IN SADAF AND SAFFEIN
This project was Construction of three schools in Saffein and Sadaf towns and re-construction of a building to suit for a high school in Saffein . All three schools were based on same design that was done by Behin Shahr Consultant Engineers. Each school had 12 classes and three office and space for lavatories and small shop and a large playground. These schools were hand over to Education Authorities of Kish and they are still serving hundreds of students.
SUPERVISING SADAF TOWER CONSTRUCTION
This tower in 14 stories was the first tower to be constructed in Kish Island. The KFZO initiated this project to encourage and persuade other investors to start building towers however it was not a good idea for Kish. Behin Shahr Company was the consultant engineer and designer and Ekpiam Construction Company was the contractor and KEDC was in charge of inspection and constructio1n supervision. The building was completed in 6 years with lots of problems of geology and design. Even there was problems to sell the apartments and finally the tower management shifted to a French company and they could sell most of the units mostly to KFZO as office for its sub-companies and agencies. The reason for non-popularity of this tower was first mixing with offices and the number of commuters and clienteles and also the location of tower.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
This project was designed and constructed to refine and recycle the sewage of west part of island for use for landscape and irrigation of green areas. The capacity of this plan was 10,000 cubic meters per 12 hours. This project included pumping station and a piping network to cover all green areas of the island.
TENNIS COURT & STADIUM
This project was designed and built by KEDC in 1978 for Tennis Events and national and even international competitions. The grand stand could accommodate 300 people and included a coffee shop and a mini-super and a VIP quarter
KISH PORT WAVE BREAKER
This project was design by Consultant Engineers and was contracted by Bahambar Construction Company under supervisory of KEDC. The project completed in three years and now is part of Kish port basin.
AIRPORT TERMINAL 4
This terminal was designed by Atek Consultant Engineers and constructed by KEDC to increase the capacity of Kish airport to 2 million passengers per year and also allocates existing terminals 1 & 2 for international flights and VIP. This terminal is now in operation and serving all domestic flights
CONSTRUCTION OF 16 VIP VILLAS
This was a new system of building with new materials such as fiberglass. The first trial was in sport village of Kish and few half-sphere with fiber glass were built but it was not a successful try due to heat at summer time. After some changes and modification on material, 16 units of these pretty architectural shape villas were built and furnished in Simorgh Beach Park in east of island. Now these villas are serving as guest house to visitors of the island.
SHORE VOLLEYBALL GRANDSTAND
This project was proposed by Kish Sport Committee for hosting shore volleyball games in island. The grand-stand was manufactured and built in 10 days and was installed near Hotel Dariush.
KISH WATER RESERVOIR
This project was designed by Consultant Engineers and was contracted by KEDC to provide 20000 cubic meters reservoir for supply the potable water for existed 18000 people in the island. It consist of two 10000 cubic meters underground concrete structures with pumping station and in-take unit to receive water from desalination plan from 2 kilo meters distance. These reservoirs are steel in operation as the only reservoir for more than 30'000 population of the island.
